Do you consider your home area Menomonie and Eau Claire?

Yes, we’re a wedding venue in Eau Claire and the Menomonie market (The Chippewa Valley). We are also a close drive for those living around New Richmond, WI and Hudson, WI.


How far from the Twin Cities Metro are you?

Besides serving Western Wisconsin, we love our friends from Minnesota! We are only 50 minutes from Stillwater, MN along Hwy 64 and 60 Minutes from the Twin Cities from via 1-94


What is the rental fee and what does it include?

Can I have just my reception there?

Yes, we are a wedding and reception venue. Even if it’s just for your wedding reception, our early available times are yours for getting ready in the morning.


How much does it cost to reserve our date?

We offer a low-cost down payment of only $1,000. 9 months out from the wedding date, 50% of the balance is due with the remaining balance due at 120 days out. If a couple needs something even more flexible, we are happy to create a custom payment plan.


How many people do you accommodate?

The Loft comfortably accommodate 224 guests (238 with the head table) for standard events. For larger gatherings, the Loft deck and Parlor offer seating for an additional 12-36 guests. Our terrace has additional options. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.


How long do we have the property?

Generally for Sundays 9am - 11pm, Friday & Saturday’s 7am-Midnight. Multi-days bookings offer the best value and experience. For an entire 3-day weekend, you will get the venue starting at 7am Friday, ending Sunday at 2pm.


Are there overnight accommodations nearby?

Menomonie has several major hotels close to the interstate with more relaxing Aibnb’s around Lake Tainter. Eau Claire is a fun city with even more options and also makes a great day trip! For lodging recommendations for both cities please visit our Accommodations page.


Can we have our own DJ?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to choose your own DJ or live band. Music can be played until 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and until 10 PM on Sundays and Thursdays. For more details on our event policies, visit our Venue Details page.


Can we choose our own caterer?

Yes! We understand that you might want your favorite foods and don’t want you to be limited on your big day!


What is your alcohol policy?

For events in 2025, we offer a BYOB policy, with the requirement that all alcohol is served by a licensed bartender to ensure guest safety. Starting in 2026, in compliance with Wisconsin state regulations, we will provide in-house bar services for all events with very flexible options and modest pricing. Cash bar and/or discounted pre-paid limits for your designated groups are all available with no minimums. For detailed information on our beverage options, please contact us.


What is the parking situation?

We have more than ample parking for your guests right on the property. Guests may leave their vehicles overnight for morning pickup.


Is the space handicap accessible?

Yes! We have both accessible bathrooms and a handicap accessible ramp to be sure all of your guests can access the space.


What if it rains?

Our barn left and parlor a spacious and allow you to have a little to no-flip indoor ceremony option. For more weather related wedding info please check out our blog here.


Are there bathrooms?

Yes! We have modern indoor bathrooms right on-site. Events over 225 require additional portable options.


Do you coordinate our wedding?

While we are not a substitute for an outside wedding coordination service, we are very knowledgeable and WILL assist with the plan for your day if requested. An Event Lead will be present to assist the day of the wedding.


Are fireworks or sparkers permitted?

To keep the historic grounds clean, around for another 100 years and safe for everyone these are not permitted. Glow sticks and similar are a wonderful substitute!

What is your smoking policy?

For the safety and well being of our guests and venue, smoking is allowed in the designated areas only.


Are pets welcome?

Pets are family for many of us and are very welcome! We just ask that you have some designated to handle and leash them when appropriate.


What are some fun things for our guests to do near Hayvn at Hay River?

We encourage your guests to explore the scene in Menomonie and in Eau Claire with activities like hiking the Red Cedar State Trail, visiting Lucette Brewing in Menomonie, or enjoying the arts and riverfront at Phoenix Park in Eau Claire.
